Welcome to 13 Lucky Monkey Blog: What a Long, Strange Trip It Will Be

Posted on September 15, 2013 by Brian Bixler | 0 Comments

Welcome to the journey. It’s going to be an awesome ride!

The adventure started several years ago when the guys of 13 Lucky Monkey set out in search of the coolest biker rings they could find—something sick that would reflect their peripatetic and passionate lifestyles. But they came up empty-handed.

That’s when they decided to put their own artistic talents to work, using their fine skills and boundless creativity to sculpt unique rings they believe not only reflect the biker mentality, but which also serve as lucky charms like guardian bells to protect a rider on his or her journey and keep them from eating asphalt.

Because 13 Lucky Monkey rings and other accessories are inspired by such things as motorcycles and motorcycle gadgetry, rock ‘n’ roll, weaponry and Kustom Kulture, we aim to enlighten our customers and fellow gearheads about those things.

Along the way, we will keep you informed about our progress as we reach out through the Internet to bring our one-of-a-kind, handcrafted rings to a larger audience that we hope will appreciate their imagery, energy and mystical qualities. But we also want to inform and entertain you about those things you may find interesting. That’s what the blog is for.

During our travels, if we discover a fellow artist who designs and makes killer custom leather goods, we’ll tell you about it.

Maybe we’ll write about Biker Week and Biketoberfest in Daytona Beach, Florida, or what it’s like to participate in an Iron Butt Rally.

If you want to know about the latest motorcycle accessories, or even new laws and ordinances affecting bikers, we’ll try to keep up with those developments as well.

We hope to trace some of the most well-ridden routes and trails in Europe, North America and elsewhere—big slabs full of twisties that are favorites for bikers—in case you feel like taking a long road trip.

If our favorite band comes out with a new CD or goes on tour, people like Ozzie or the Eagles, we’ll probably tell you about that, too.

Readers will also learn more about our ring designs, the inspiration and symbolism. We plan to release a few new designs each season, retiring old ones as new ones are introduced. You can find out here about the thought that went into each one.

So strap your head into a brain bucket, pop the clutch and come along on our trip. We’re glad you’re with us.
